Community is central to who we are at Green River Builders. And we’re not just talking about the stunning communities where our homes can be found. We believe a strong foundation for any home BEGINS with strong communities… and that’s why we’re committed to giving back to the people and organizations who make up those communities. Ever since our company’s launch, we’ve been proud to show our support for organizations like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and several Breast Cancer Awareness nonprofits, as well as local schools. For the 7th year in a row, in conjunction with our partners at Platinum Key Realty of Georgia, we’re shifting our focus to those in need during the holiday season with an Angel Tree at Green River Builders HQ in Conyers.
What is an Angel Tree?
While an Angel Tree looks a lot like a traditional Christmas tree, if you take a closer look, among the ornaments are special tags that feature a child’s name and their Christmas wish list. Our team members and vendors will help fulfill the wishes of 35 children in need in neighboring Newton County this year. We find great fulfillment in not only shopping for these gifts, but also in imagining the joy these children will feel when opening each lovingly wrapped gift on Christmas morning.
How Can I Help?
While the wishes that bedeck the Green River Builders’ Angel Tree are intended for our team members and vendors to fulfill, we understand that you may feel compelled to help children and families in need within your own community. Here are just a few ideas:
- Host Your Own Angel Tree at Your Office – Contact a local church or nonprofit in the community where your company is based that focuses on kids and families to see if they can provide you with a list of wishes to fulfill.
- Volunteer with or Donate to a Local Food Pantry – Take up a collection of non-perishable items at your office or volunteer as a group with your family or company team members at a local food pantry. You’d be surprised to learn how many families in your community are food insecure. Your efforts could ensure that they have food on their table this holiday season.
- Make a Financial Contribution to a Family-Focused Nonprofit in your Community – Nonprofits with a mission to help children and families in need often have a very good read on the needs of the people they serve. You can host a fundraiser, take up a collection or make a direct donation to the organization of choice to support their efforts. If you’re in our neck of the woods, you might want to consider Family Connection of Newton County or Rockdale Coalition for Children & Families. From all of us here at Green River Builders, we wish you and all those you love a Happy Holiday Season. May all your own wishes be fulfilled!
