Five Fun Things to Do on Lake Keowee

Green River Builders is extraordinarily proud of the fact that our homes will soon make a beautiful addition to the scenic backdrop that surrounds South Carolina’s Lake Keowee. But just as we seek to make a splash in this picturesque Palmetto State lakeside community, we’d love for the distinctive Lake Keowee lifestyle to make a splash in the lives of our future homeowners. To get you excited about the possibilities, we wanted to shine the spotlight on FIVE of our favorite things to do on Lake Keowee…

1)     Make Your Own Waves – Boasting 18,500 acres of open waters and tranquil coves,Lake Keowee presents countless opportunities for fun seekers to really shake things up. Rent a 22-foot triton and tubes for towing from Lake Vibes or jet skis and wave runners from Endless Adventures to make your own waves on the glasslike surface of this pristine lake.

2)     Get Set to Glide – If you prefer a more serene day on the lake, you’re going to love exploring Keowee’s quiet coves from the belly of a kayak. Unlimited Outfitters offers a variety of single and double kayaks, as well as paddle boards and pontoons.

3)     Walk Among the Waterfalls – The beauty of Lake Keowee isn’t limited to the lake itself. There are also a number of scenic walking trails where the picturesque payoff is a waterfall. Visible from land and boat, Fall Creek Waterfall is a beautiful destination. The trailhead that runs from Fall Creek Road to the falls will also lead you to an old homestead and two other waterfalls –including Andrew Ramey Falls and Pristine Falls – before leading to the Chattooga River. It’s over a mile and a half one way and a moderate to difficult trek due to overgrowth, but beautiful by all accounts. Click here for even more waterfalls found throughout Keowee and surrounding Oconee County.

4)     Grab a Pint and a Pizza – Thirsty after a day of boating, kayaking or hiking around Lake Keowee? Head on over to Keowee Brewing Company! This family-owned eatery offers a variety of great craft beers, brewed on site in addition to a pub menu that features everything from nachos and salads to sandwiches and personal pizzas in a gray brick building in the heart of Seneca, SC.

5)     From Axes to Escapes – Ready to get off the lake and take advantage of a few landlubber activities? Timber Ridge Axe Throwing invites you to enjoy an axe-citing time by booking a lane and trying your hand at throwing axes at targets with your favorite friends and family members. In between throws, dine on Lumberjack Dogs the sizeof a log and a true Southern favorite – boiled peanuts The Escape Quest in Seneca offers unique puzzles for out-of-the-box thinkers. Play Sherlock’s Recruits to learn if you have what it takes to solve the mystery and escape in an hour or Wild West with a Twist to see if you can find Jessie James’ loot before the clock runs out.

Lake Keowee’s position near the cities of Seneca and Clemson offers access to a wealth of adventures, dining destinations, shops and parks – so there’s never a dull moment in this incredibly special Southern spot. We invite you to visit Lake Keowee firsthand. If you love it as much as we do, consider building a GreenRiver Builder home near Lake Keowee’s shores.
